South Africa's rand firmed in afternoon trade on Monday as
the United States and China sought to ease trade war
tensions while investors also looked to a slew of domestic
economic data later in the week for clues on the health of

The Kenyan shilling KES= traded in a narrow range against
the dollar on Monday with inflows from portfolio investors
buying government debt and diaspora remittances helping ease
pressure from excess liquidity in the local money market,
